Although family life is a great responsility, that weigh on a couple, it is no greater obligation than their ability to cope with it.
There must be complete trust between husband and wife. For that to occur, it is necessary that the soul of one is able to present itself to the other as an open book. No act should be practiced that they may be ashamed of, and that they are concerned with hiding it.
Secretiveness, the fact that they have to hide faults, feel the need to lie to sustain good appearances, is highly detrimental to character and hinders spiritual evolution. Home life will be much happier if each spouse lives up to the unrestricted trust and moral support of the other.
Unfaithfulness and betrayal are acts that not only hurt decency, but also leave an indelible spiritual stain on the conduct planned in the spiritual level, for the current reincarnation.
Honest thoughts and willpower in action are powerful weapons that any individual must use against the thrusts of the inferior astral, trying to envelop him or her in the pernicious animistic fluids of their harmful currents, as soon as they (the inferior astral) perceive the affinity of a feeling inclined to infidelity.
Women and men complement each other at home as two stabilizing measures in balancing a situation that should be permanent.
Just as the spirit is connected to entire physical body by animistic or fluidic cords in order to enable the balance of human functions, so spiritual action unfolds in the formation of the home and family, assigning to man certain attributions and women different ones, even though nowadays some attributions can interchange.
Therefore, each spouse should endeavour to perform his or her role well. If they stand united, they will carry out their difficult and dignifying assignments. On the other hand, if they grow spiritually apart, they will sow the seeds of discord and disagreement and their work will be left undone.
