Cultivating qualities to refine your character

by CR (119)

We have previously stated that to improve our character, we should avoid extremes, as all moral attributes are at equal distance from the extremes. Therefore everyone should consider the middle ground, so that a moral balance is established.

Men and women often fall down the flanks of a dangerous abyss, damaging their character, because they do not want to understand that between two equal and opposite forces there is always a central point of balance to hold on and to enjoy the advantages it offers.

Diving into the extremes leads to spiritual evolution being slowed down or even completely halted, which of course, is very detrimental to the character. That's why it is so important to work towards the improvement of the moral attributes that form the good character of a human being.

To better refine the character, that is, human moral strengths, everyone should strive to cultivate qualities like good judgement, equity, common sense, punctuality, loyalty, harmony, courage, magnanimity, good-humour, dignity, gratitude, politeness, faithfulness, moderation, truthfulness, self-respect, respect for others and so forth, in order to compose a prime set of ennobling spiritual virtues.

It is to these virtues, to these moral resources, that many human beings turn to when they feel the need to overcome spiritual weaknesses.

A good character is a spiritual possession that you can take with you at the end of each reincarnation, it never separates from those who know how to accumulate spiritual qualities that last for all eternity. On the other hand, the accumulation of material possessions is temporary. They remain on Earth.

The best fortune a human being can aspire to, is that formed through noble actions that always reflect the greatness of character.
