There are a variety of explanations found in The Free Dictionary, in regard to the definition of Logic. Some of them tell us that Logic is:
"The study of principles of reasoning, especially of the structure of propositions as distinguished from their content, and of method and validity in deductive reasoning; The branch of philosophy concerned with analysing the patterns of reasoning by which a conclusion is properly drawn from a set of premises, without reference to meaning or context."
Furthermore it tells us that logic is also: "The system and principles of reasoning used in a specific field of study; A particular method of argument or reasoning; Force or effectiveness in argument or dispute; Reasoned thought or argument, as distinguished from irrationality; The relationship and interdependence of a series of events, facts, etc."
On the other hand "Your Dictionary" offer us a few examples of what Logic can be, divided by Deductive and Inductive Logic.
For example on Deductive Logic they give us these two examples: "(a) It is dangerous to drive when it is snowing. It is snowing now. Logic tells you that it would be dangerous to drive right now. (b) When it rains the trees get wet. The trees are wet this morning, so it rained last night."
As for Inductive Logic they offer us this example: "Every house that burned down on the block was caused by faulty wiring. Your conclusion is that all homes on the block have faulty wiring."
As we mentioned before Christian Rationalism is NOT a religion. It is a spiritual philosophy that can even be scientifically studied, as explained in the book 'Spiritualistic Science' written by the physician Dr. Antonio Pinheiro Guedes.
The name Christian Rationalism is a logical one. It tells us that Christianism doesn't have to be linked to religious dogmatism and can in fact logically explain the reason why we are born in this world, what we are doing here and where we are going to after physical death.
So for Christian Rationalism logic is a quality which provides consistency in attitudes, appropriateness in the formation of ideas, and methodical thinking.
Logic is completely impossible without spiritual growth and development. It is pre-eminently a quality resulting from spiritual evolution. It enables man to express his ideas based on firm, objective, realistic grounds.
Thus, no solid assertion can be made unless it is firmly based on the important spiritual attribute which is logic.
